One position is frozen. The rest of the book is not.
Today's market and our positions
Fourteen positions in CRNX. Combined move today: +0.00%. Not a typo — the stock barely breathed while SPY climbed 0.62%. That's the dominant story of this session: the Relative Strength Engine built a large position in CRNX over roughly three months, and right now it's just sitting there, watching the market move without it. That's not a crisis yet — but it's the number we keep coming back to. Outside of CRNX, the book held its own. TEAM made new highs on the day, RNG continued to work, and HURN added a little more cushion. ASST, our newest entry, opened Day 1 with a -4.0% dip against a flat SPY. Not the start we wanted.
What our open trades are doing
TEAM is doing the heavy lifting right now, and it's not subtle about it. Three positions — entries at $179.86, $181.65, and $186.31 — are up 15.0%, 13.8%, and 11.0% respectively, all against a SPY gain of under 3% over the same windows. That's the Relative Strength Engine doing exactly what it's built to do: find something that wants to go up more than the market does, and stay with it. Today's close at $206.76 keeps all three well above entry. HURN (Day 11, entry $158.90) is up 5.1% with a +3.25% alpha edge — still building, still pointed the right direction. RNG added two positions at $77.42 and $77.88 over the last three days. Both are already positive, and today's flat SPY session gave RNG room to show +2.39% and +1.78% respectively. Small lead — but it's a lead. Then there's CRNX, which is the puzzle of the portfolio right now. Fourteen positions, entries ranging from $83.93 to $84.99, and the current price is sitting directly on top of all of them. The system pressed this name across multiple accumulation days because relative strength said it was worth it. SPY has gained between 0.09% and 2.09% over those holding windows. CRNX gave back nothing — and gained nothing. It's not in drawdown. It's just not moving. That kind of flat-line divergence from a rising index is a yellow flag, and both eyes are on it. HTFL (Day 10, entry $50.49) is down 1.49% while SPY is up 2.09% over the same window — a -3.58% alpha gap. Still inside manageable range, but it's lagging when the market runs, which is exactly when you need it not to. ASST opened Day 1 at $28.99 and closed at $27.83, a -4.0% drop on a flat SPY day. First days can be rough. Day 2 will tell us more.
Today's closed trades, post-mortem
No trades closed today. Nothing to post-mortem. Every position in the book is still open, still running.
What could change by tomorrow's open
The obvious risk heading into tomorrow is concentration. Fourteen positions in CRNX means any gap down in that one name hits the portfolio across the board — not once, but fourteen times. Biotech doesn't need a scheduled catalyst to move; news can appear overnight, and it doesn't always move in your direction. ASST's Day 1 loss is small enough to still read as noise, but a gap lower at the open would change that picture quickly. On the other side of the ledger, TEAM has built enough cushion that even a rough session wouldn't erase the alpha it's accumulated. The real question for tomorrow morning is simpler than all of that: does CRNX finally move? Stasis this long tends to resolve — the direction is what we don't know yet.
What we're watching tomorrow
The Relative Strength Engine will be scanning for setups at the open. Whether it adds to existing names or flags something new depends on what the overnight session does to relative rankings. But CRNX is the first chart we'll pull up tomorrow morning — sixty-six days is a long time to hold a position that hasn't moved an inch.
