Two names up 30%-plus are carrying the whole book
Today's market and our positions
SPY dropped 0.73% today and closed near $765.71. No fireworks — just a soft, directionless tape with neither bulls nor bears willing to commit. No trades closed, no new signals fired. So today is entirely about what's already on the board and how it's holding up. Through 61 days, the Relative Strength Engine sits at +2.4% against SPY's flat line over the same window. The alpha is real, but it's coming from two names doing the heavy lifting: IOVA and TWST. The rest of the book is treading water — and honestly, that's the job. A diversified batch of RS signals is supposed to hold its ground while you wait for the runners to run.
What our open trades are doing
IOVA is up 34.85% from the day-18 entry at $8.15. That's not a rounding error — that's a name doing exactly what we need a relative strength position to do. The Relative Strength Engine caught it early, when it was just beginning to separate from its peer group, and it's kept outperforming while the broader market grinds sideways. We're holding. TWST is up 32.29% from the day-14 entry at $135.76, now at $179.60. Two names with 30%-plus open gains in a flat market is the whole point of running a relative strength book. You're not chasing the index — you're finding the things that don't care what the index is doing. RNG is up 9.46% from $69.55 (day 15). Quieter, but it's holding the trend cleanly, and the SPY alpha sits at +8.84%. Nothing to complain about there. CRNX is the interesting one. Fourteen separate entries across days 29 through 55, all clustered in the $83.93–$84.99 range, all showing essentially zero price change today. The alpha on most of those is positive simply because SPY was down on the days they were entered. Right now, CRNX isn't doing much — and after 14 entries, that's starting to feel like friction. The RS Engine flagged it for a reason, and it hasn't broken anything structurally. But this is one we're watching with a shorter patience window. TEAM is the weak spot on the board. The day-20 entry at $179.86 sits at $178.54, down 0.73%. The day-19 entry at $181.65 is down 1.71%. Both are underperforming SPY. Neither is in stop territory yet — but TEAM is on a shorter leash than anything else in the book right now.
Today's closed trades, post-mortem
No trades closed today, so there's no post-mortem to run. The book carried over intact. When something does close — win or loss — we'll break it down in full.
What could change by tomorrow's open
A few things could shift the picture before tomorrow's open. If SPY gaps down again, TEAM's two positions move closer to a decision point. CRNX needs to start doing something — 14 positions sitting in a tight range is a lot of capital standing still, and that clock is ticking. Meanwhile, IOVA and TWST are carrying so much of the system's current gains that a sharp reversal in either one would move the overall number in a hurry. Neither is showing signs of distribution yet — but gains that size have a way of attracting attention. We're watching both closely.
What we're watching tomorrow
Tomorrow morning the engines scan fresh. The question is whether any new RS divergences surface — or whether the market keeps drifting in this low-conviction fog that makes clean setups hard to find. CRNX has 14 positions waiting on a catalyst. TEAM needs to pick a direction. And IOVA and TWST are at levels where some traders start getting itchy. We'll see which way the tape leans at the open.
