Why tomorrow morning could finally answer the CRNX question

Fourteen positions in one name, all sitting motionless — and that silence is about to break one way or the other.
Scoreboard Update
EXPERIMENT UPDATE — Day 59 System: +3.3% | SPY (same window): +0.0% | Alpha: +3.3% Win rate: 0% (0/18) Open positions: CRNX (day 51, +1.2%), CRNX (day 46, +0.9%), CRNX (day 45, +0.8%), CRNX (day 44, +0.6%), CRNX (day 43, +0.5%), CRNX (day 42, +0.4%), CRNX (day 39, +0.3%), CRNX (day 38, +0.2%), CRNX (day 37, +0.2%), CRNX (day 36, +0.3%), CRNX (day 35, +0.2%), CRNX (day 32, +0.2%), CRNX (day 28, +0.1%), CRNX (day 25, -0.0%), TEAM (day 16, +7.1%), TEAM (day 15, +6.0%), IOVA (day 14, +32.5%), RNG (day 11, +14.8%), TWST (day 10, +35.6%)

Today's market and our positions

TWST is up 35.6% from our entry. IOVA is up 32.5%. Read those again — that's what the Relative Strength Engine has been sitting on for the past two weeks. Meanwhile, SPY drifted down 0.12% today and closed near $766.86. Essentially nothing happened in the index — but 'essentially nothing' is exactly the kind of session where relative strength positions quietly compound while the broad market does its indecisive shuffle. Day 59 of the experiment. System is up 3.3% vs SPY flat over the same window. Win rate is still 0% on closed trades — zero closes, zero wins, zero losses. Everything is still open and running, and the gap between what this book is doing and what the index is doing keeps widening.

What our open trades are doing

Here's where everything stands. TWST (day 10) is the headliner — entry at $135.76, now at $180.50, up 32.96% vs SPY +1.30% over the same stretch. That's a 31.65-point alpha gap. The Relative Strength Engine grabbed it early and it hasn't looked back once. IOVA (day 14) is quieter in share-price terms, but the math is just as striking — entry $8.15, now $10.78, up 32.27%. When a stock near $8 moves 32%, you feel every point of it. RNG (day 11) is up 14.77% from $69.55 to $79.82 — solid, unflashy, doing its job. TEAM has two positions open (days 15 and 16) at +5.81% and +6.86% respectively. Both entered in the $179–$181 range and are now tracking $192.20. That's the engine doubling down on a name it already believed in — and so far, it's been right to do it. Then there's CRNX. Fourteen open positions, all entered in the $83.93–$84.99 range, all showing 0.00% move from their entries at today's close. The stock landed almost exactly where it started across every single entry. What CRNX is doing is treading water — but SPY sold off on most of those entry days, which means the alpha numbers are quietly positive on most of the legs: +0.75%, +1.36%, +1.17%, and so on. It's not exciting. It's also not broken. The Relative Strength Engine saw something here, and we're still waiting to find out if it was right.

Today's closed trades, post-mortem

No trades closed today. Nothing to post-mortem. The scoreboard stays at 0 closed trades, 0 wins, 0 losses — and every position in the book is still live, still running, still being tracked.

What could change by tomorrow's open

The sharpest risk heading into tomorrow is CRNX concentration. Fourteen positions in a single name is unusual by any measure — if something moves against CRNX at the open, that's fourteen simultaneous drawdowns hitting the book at once. The stock has been oddly, almost suspiciously flat. That could mean it's coiling. It could mean it's stuck. We don't know yet. For TWST and IOVA, the risk is simply the other side of the gain — both are extended, both have a long way to fall if sentiment shifts. The engine is still holding them, which means the conditions that originally triggered those signals haven't reversed. But gains that size can give back ground faster than they built it.

What we're watching tomorrow

Tomorrow morning the engines run their full scan, and the first thing we'll be watching is those fourteen CRNX positions sitting motionless. If it finally breaks one direction or the other, it moves the whole book in a hurry. TWST and IOVA will have their own answer to give us — whether this extension is the beginning of a bigger run or the last stretch before a fade. Either way, it should be an interesting open.
