Before you write off a flat position, look at this split
Today's market and our positions
CRNX did exactly nothing today. Fourteen open positions, all entered between $83.93 and $84.99, all sitting at +0.00% on the session — while SPY put up +1.51%. That's the split-screen we're living with right now: a handful of names working hard, and one name that apparently hasn't gotten the memo. The saving grace is that the names doing the work are doing enough of it. The system sits at +2.4% alpha over 56 days while SPY has gone nowhere over the same window. No trades closed today. It was a holding day. The portfolio held fine.
What our open trades are doing
Let's run the board. TWST is the one worth coming back to first. The Relative Strength Engine flagged it on day 7 at $135.76. It's at $165.83 now — +22.15%, with +20.02% alpha over SPY's same stretch. That's the engine doing exactly what it's designed to do: find something with real momentum before the crowd fully prices it in. IOVA is the other standout. Entered at $8.15 on day 11, now sitting at $10.19 — +25.03%, +23.83% alpha. Small-dollar biotech with an outsized move. These setups carry more volatility, and so far every bit of that volatility has broken our direction. RNG came in at $69.55 eight sessions ago and is now at $77.30 — +11.14%, +9.48% alpha. Steady, clean drift. No drama, no heroics. Just working. TEAM has two entries. Day 12 at $181.65 is up +7.72%, and day 13 at $179.86 is up +8.79%. Both well ahead of SPY over their respective holds. TEAM has been one of the more consistent relative strength names in the system lately, and it's earning that reputation. And then there's CRNX. Fourteen positions, entries ranging from $83.93 to $84.99, and the stock is parked right where most of them went in — flat to down a few pennies on the longest holds. The Relative Strength Engine kept adding because the thesis hasn't broken. But the stock isn't cooperating, and at 48 days on the longest position, that's a real time cost even when the dollar cost stays minimal. The closed-trade win rate officially stands at 0-for-18. That number will look different once these open positions resolve — but it's real, and it's worth naming out loud.

What could change by tomorrow's open
IOVA and TWST are the ones to watch most carefully overnight. Both have moved far enough that a single bad session could give back meaningful gains — biotech especially has a habit of doing that on no news at all. RNG and TEAM look calmer, but neither is immune to a sharp tape reversal. CRNX is a different kind of risk. It's not losing money — but 14 positions held 22 to 48 days with flat performance means the opportunity cost is quietly stacking up. Every day SPY pushes higher, that alpha gap widens a little more. We'll see whether a catalyst finally shows up or the system starts trimming. SPY closed near $773.17. If that level holds as support, the momentum names have room to keep running. If tomorrow opens with a fade, our biggest winners are most exposed.
What we're watching tomorrow
Tomorrow morning the engines scan fresh. TWST, IOVA, and RNG are the ones to watch — we want to see momentum hold, not hand back gains to a tape that's already had a good week. CRNX just needs to do something. Anything. Forty-eight days of flat is a long time to wait for a thesis to show its hand.
