Do not ignore what IOVA just did in six days

Today's market and our positions

IOVA is up 21% from our entry. That number looked strange enough that I checked it twice. It's right. The Relative Strength Engine flagged that name six days ago at $8.15, and it's sitting at $9.89 now — while SPY has bled -1.34% over the same window. That's a +22.71% alpha spread in less than two weeks. We're not spiking the football — the position is still open and anything can happen — but that kind of separation deserves to be said out loud. Meanwhile, SPY closed today at $554.24, down another -0.42% on the session. Nothing dramatic. Just the slow grind lower that's been the backdrop for most of our open book.

What our open trades are doing

Let's walk the live positions. CRNX is the strangest-looking block on the sheet — fourteen separate entries ranging from day 17 to day 43, every single one sitting at exactly +0.00% in price. That's not a glitch. CRNX is essentially flat versus entry across all of those positions, but SPY has dropped anywhere from -1.12% to -3.06% over those same windows. The Relative Strength Engine owns this name for one reason: it's not going down when everything else is. Flat-while-the-market-falls is exactly what that engine was built to find. Whether CRNX eventually pushes higher is the open question. Right now it's just not losing — and in this tape, that's doing its job. TEAM is doing more. Day 8 is +5.79% against a -1.10% SPY backdrop. Day 7 is +4.75% with similar separation. The Relative Strength Engine flagged this one as the broader market was already rolling over, and it's held that spread ever since. No fireworks — just consistent outperformance over a short window. RNG (day 3, +5.74%) and TWST (day 2, +5.38%) are the newest entries, and both opened well. Three days and two days in respectively — too early to read much into it, but early separation from SPY is exactly what you want to see at this stage. IOVA is the outlier. +21.37% in six days from an $8.15 entry is real, and the alpha versus SPY is +22.71%. Small-cap biotech can move like this on nothing or on everything. We don't know which it was here. We're watching this one closely.

Today's closed trades, post-mortem

No trades closed today. Nothing to post-mortem. The book is entirely open positions, and the system didn't trigger any exits. One thing worth clarifying: the win rate shows 0/18 on the synopsis because none of the open positions have been closed yet — not because eighteen trades lost. They're still running. That number starts to mean something once we start closing.

What could change by tomorrow's open

The broad market is still under pressure. SPY is down on the session and has been drifting lower for most of the past several weeks. That's the environment the Relative Strength Engine was designed to outperform in — finding names that hold or rise while the index falls — but 'designed for' doesn't mean 'immune to.' If SPY gaps down hard at the open, even strong relative performers can get caught in the downdraft short-term. IOVA specifically: a +21% move in a small-cap name can unwind faster than it built. We haven't seen a reason to exit, but we're not sitting back complacently either. Position sizing on small names like that matters more than ever in a tape like this.

What we're watching tomorrow

Tomorrow morning the engines run fresh scans. With the market still soft, the real question is whether the Relative Strength Engine surfaces new names that are bucking the trend — or whether the setup universe is thinning out because fewer stocks are holding up. We'll see what clears the bar.
